Transylvania Tour 2017
Adventure in Transylvania: May 31 – June 13, 2017
In order to be on time for the start of this tour all travelers need to be at the airport in Bucharest, Romania by or before 1:30pm on May 31st.
If Transylvania is on your bucket list this would be a great time to visit because it will not be on our schedule again until 2020.
This tour will focus on the Hungarian communities in the outer Hungary area of Transylvania (Romania).
Transylvania is an area where there are a significant number of Hungarians who work hard to maintain their Hungarian heritage even though the borders have changed and they are now residents of Romania. This border change happened in 1920 as a result of the Treaty of Trianon. We will meet in Bucharest, Romania at the airport and spend our days enjoying the people, foods, nature and handwork of Transylvania. Join us as we travel to St. Anna Lake and Red Lake, take part in the Csíksomlyó Pilgrimage and visit Székelyudvarhely, Hargita Mountain, and Szováta. We will continue to explore the region with a visit to the Parajd Salt Mine and Korond. After traveling to Kolozsvár and Torockó we will participate in a cooking course and then make our way to Budapest. The $2500 per person package price is based on double occupancy and includes all entrance fees to scheduled programs, two meals per day, 1st class air-conditioned coach, all accommodations, and an English-speaking guide during the entire trip.
Flight and travel insurance is not included. The $500 deposit is due now with additional payments due January 15th and March 15th. Single supplement is $450 additional. If Transylvania is on your bucket list this would be a great time to visit because it will not be on our schedule again until 2020.
