For the last two years we have had the pleasure of bonding with our favorite Hungarian student at University of Evansville, Karolina. She is very smart and a lot of fun! UE hosts an International Festival and students from around the world cook and serve a dish that represents their homeland. Last year we made gulyás. This year we tackled csirke paprikás. We are required to cook enough to give samples to at least 300 people and we are given limited time in the university kitchen for prep and cooking.
We had a number of repeat customers and a lot of compliments. While it is a lot of work it is a lot of fun! Maybe there is a Hungarian International student in your neighborhood–either at the high school or college level and maybe they have to cook for their International Festival–Look into it! Or at least send them a finals week gift bag!
